It's a love affair that never goes away, a passion that rarely subsides, a connection, a calling. The Motherland, my Motherland. For us-first generation Greek Australians there is nothing quite like the lure and call of the Motherland. Nothing compares to the love we have deep down inside for Greece and everything Hellas.
For the love of all that's blue and white, we are drawn by ancestry and blood to the clear blue seas, the cobblestone streets, whitewashed walls and tales of ancient hero's and gods. We are fiercely protective of all the thousands of years, the hundreds of battles, the countless legends and myths that come together to make Greece.
At this time of year, while we go about our business in Sydney, huddled under umbrellas and warming ourselves up from winter, our Instagram and Facebook feeds are filled with sun drenched images from Greece. Our friends and family are enjoying lounging at the beach, eating at a Taverna or enjoying the hospitality of the local village.
Scenes from Nammos or Glyfada, Perissa or Koukounaries, the Athenian nightlight and lazy days on a sun lounge sipping frappe’s, these all evoke in us a longing and a love for the land of our ancestors. Its all about the hospitality, style, happiness, forgetting your troubles and those of the world, even just for a little while, and immersing yourself into everything that is blue, white and Greek.
At Pamper Hamper Gifts we have a strong and raw connection to the Motherland and not a day goes by that we don’t think about or feel that connection. We believe our ‘Greekness’ is imbued in everything we do and pretty much dictates how we do it. We are stubborn, we are strong, we are loving, we are passionate, we are particular, we are loyal, we work hard, we play hard, we worship the sun, we cherish the sea and we live to eat. We are Greek!
We draw inspiration from the Motherland and take the spirit of Ellada very seriously. We have even tried to instill the spirit and zest into our work at Pamper Hamper Gifts and leave a little Hellenic magic and good old Greek hospitality in every Hamper.
